One man is dead and another was seriously injured after their vehicles collided in Uxbridge on Tuesday afternoon.
Durham Police responded to a call around 3 p.m. on Lakeridge Road near Chalk Lake Road.
A gold Saturn was travelling north on Lakeridge when it collided head-on with a southbound Hyundai, causing both vehicles to spin, police said. The Hyundai ended up in the west ditch, while the Saturn ended up in the east ditch.
The driver of the Saturn, a 26-year-old Pickering man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released, police said Wednesday.
Ornge told CityNews the second victim was transported to hospital via air ambulance in critical condition. Police later said firefighters and paramedics had to cut the 33-year-old Oshawa man out of his car. He remains in hospital with serious injuries.
No charges have been laid. Witnesses are asked to contact police.
